& FSC:
Handorns efforts to support Environmental
Sustainability
Händorn
has been a partner in many of the Grand Rapids areas largest
LEED projects. We are currently working on the new Cathedral
Square building and St. Mary’s hospital, projects
both seeking to obtain LEED certification. Händorn
has worked hand-in-hand with architects and contractors
to help these projects achieve the highest LEED certification
possible.
LEED projects offer unique challenges to architects, contractors
and their clients. Because Händorn believes that reducing
the environmental impact of building projects is important
it has begun taking more initiatives to help facilitate
the success of LEED projects.
Händorn currently has relationships with wholesalers
who provide 100% post-industrial recycled board products,
wood products with no urea formaldehyde added, FSC certified
wood products and has joined the U.S. Council of Green Builders.
